Sr. Angela Marie Mazzeo
Mother Jana Zawieja, Superior General, and Sr. Angela Marie Mazzeo, General Councilor, recently took part in the Provincial Assembly of Holy Family Province, USA. The biennial gathering which this year took place from August 3 to 5, 2018, included time for reports and official business, but was primarily a time of celebration and the chance for Sisters to enjoy one another. Friday evening was highlighted by the Jubilee Mass for those Sisters celebrating their 25th, 50th and 75th anniversaries of Religious Life, followed by a festive dinner. An important focus of Saturday was thanksgiving for the service of the Provincial Administration who was completing their 6-year term: Sr. Barbara Jean Wojnicki, Sr. Cathy Fedewa, Sr. Kathleen Ann Stadler, Sr. Rita Fanning, Sr. Michele Vincent Fisher and Sr. Irena (previously Sr. Teresa) Mika. Sunday was a rich day that included the Installation Liturgy for the new Provincial Administration: Sr. Kathleen Maciej, Sr. Michele Collins, Sr. Mary Ellen Gemmel, Sr. Maria Magdalena Rybak and Sr. Irena Mika. Following the Installation, M. Jana talked to the Sisters about the need for a missionary spirit, sensitivity to the poor, being in love with our charism and family ministry. The atmosphere of the whole weekend was joyful and hope-filled.
