On Saturday, May 26, 2018, M. Jana Zawieja, Superior General, participated in the solemn celebration of the centenary of the service of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Kalisz. The ceremony gathered many Sisters, clergy, friends and benefactors of the convent, members of the Association of the Holy Family, parents and pupils of our schools in Kalisz.
There was time for communal prayer and thanksgiving to God for all the graces the Congregation has experienced over these years – thanksgiving for the mission of Nazareth in Kalisz, which continues to develop, constantly bringing new and beautiful fruits. There was time to reflect on the rich history of this place. Everybody was interested in the musical-narrative performance presenting the history of our schools in Kalisz, and thus the Sisters, children and parents. During the various speeches, many kind words of gratitude were spoken about the Congregation.
The celebration concluded with a reception in the Sisters’ garden, with blue sky and full sun. There were music, games, conversations, interesting meetings. The organization of the reception included a whole host of volunteers and benefactors who deserve great gratitude and appreciation. All in all, it was a beautiful, family celebration. Truly, everyone felt at home together. Family life was emphasized by the presence of many families with children, often very small.
Thank you to all the Sisters who have constituted, are constituting and will constitute Nazareth in Kalisz. May God be glorified in everything! And may Saint Joseph of Kalisz, (even though he is from Nazareth) constantly look after us. Let us hope for another 100 years and more, if God wishes!
