The General Conference was held in Rome from June 18 to June 24, 2021. All the provincial and regional superiors of the Congregation were present, with the exception of the provincial superior from Australia who participated in the meeting online. Sister Angela Marie Mazzeo, Superior General, invited the Sisters to Rome so that here, in the heart of the Church, together with the General Administration, they could share the joys and challenges of the time since the last General Chapter and together consider themes important for our lives and undertake a process of discernment as to what God and the Church are calling us to do today.
The Sisters spent one day in a workshop on communal discernment conducted by Father James Grummer, a Jesuit. The Sisters also had the opportunity to pray with Holy Father Francis during Sunday’s Angelus and visit the Motherhouse at Machiavelli.
The meeting was filled with prayer, reflection, and the sharing of experiences and faith. The Sisters experienced the importance of being able to meet together, to feel the unity and love and the strength of our charism. Each of the Masses during the conference was offered in the intentions of the individual Provinces and the Region in order to embrace all the Sisters of the Congregation with prayer.
