The XXVI General Chapter of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth will begin in Rome on June 30, 2024. Sisters from all over the world will take part in the deliberations: 41 delegates, as well as Sisters observing and aiding the work of the chapter. The opening Mass will be presided by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization. The chapter’s deliberations will continue until July 21.
The theme of this chapter are the words from the book of Isaiah “Behold, I am doing something new(…) do you not perceive it? (Isaiah 43:19). They contain both hope and a challenge for the entire Congregation. The Constitutions of the Congregation state that the primary purpose of the General Chapter is “to engage the members in a communal search for the Will of God “, as well as to “asses the Congregation and plan for the future in relation to the changing needs of the Church in the world.”
We ask you to pray for the Sisters Delegates, so that open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, they try to read God’s work in the “signs of the times” and discern what He is calling us to today.
Online broadcast of the Eucharist for the opening of the Chapter: June 30, 2024, at 11.15 a.m.
